NOVA Center for
the Performing Arts is staging a retelling of Jonathan Swift's
"Gulliver’s Travels."
The youth production opens on Jan. 27
and runs through Feb. 11. For show times or tickets, call NOVA
at 591-9535.
Lemuel Gulliver recounts his wild tales of
strange lands and exotic people in this satirical classic
adapted from Swift's book. In the NOVA production, Gulliver is
depicted as a down-on-his-luck physician who recounts his
adventure to the obnoxious townsfolk. The story is told in a
vaudevillian style with bright costumes and outlandish
characters.

Gulliver's Travels" features more than 20 local actors. Haleigh
Rowden, Julia Reger-Brown, Landry Gatlin and Owen McCaughey are
pictured in the back row. Justin James, Luke Johnson, Courtney
Tougas and Ell Brockman are in the front.
